The experience of the Firm in representing Connecticut municipalities, including housing authorities, covers the following types of work:
Contract negotiations with municipal employees in units represented by AFSCME, JAFF, Council 15, NAGE, Local 217 and the Teamsters, also under the Municipal Employees Relations Act, from negotiations at the bargaining table up to and through binding interest arbitration. Our experience includes initial contracts. In addition, we represent public sector employers in initiatives regarding reorganization of operations, privatization and policies.
Prohibited Practices representation under the Municipal Employee Relations Act including investigation, mediation, and representation of public sector employers before the State Labor Board.
Representation in litigation before administrative and judicial bodies in constitutional, human rights, equal employment opportunity, section 1983 and contract matters.
Freedom of Information Act Representation includes general advice to Town and City governments on compliance with the Act as well as representation before the Freedom of Information Commission.
